Could My Find be Pot?

Me and a buddy were walking around this large pond out in the country the other day, and came accross a patch of what appeared to be young marijuana pants. They were only about 1 ft tall and didn't appear to have been planted. they were on the side and middle of this old 4 wheeler trail. It almost looked like someone threw some seeds down out of a bag and they just sprouted up. There were probably 10-15 plants. The only thing is the bottome 2 leaves on each leaf were grown together into one? It was definite that they were seperate because in the middle it got a lot smaller and shorter (the last leaf that had grown to the 2nd leaf). Also the stem was brown not green. I thought pot had green stems. My buddy was all excited and like 90% sure it was pot. I was more 50/50. What do you guys think? Can some strains start out with grown together bottom leaves that later split apart?

You should really try and get some pictures for people to get a proper idea of what you've found. Anyway no, marijuana doesn't have grown together bottom leaves. However in its young stages the marijuana plant can grow leaves which instead of having the characteristic 5/7-fingered leaves, will only have three or even two which look like 5 "fused" together. Also it's pretty common for them to grow mutant leaves which can look like they're grown into each other. Does what you found match what i just described? and about the stem being brown, that's very strange. Marijuana stems are normally green with maybe some light brown or even purple thin bark, but underneath this you can easily tell it's green. But anyway it wouldn't be very nice to steal somebody else's pot now would it?

Pot doesn't grow naturally. I would say leave it alone if it is pot because people defend pot with their lives. LOL.
Just know it is someone elses so you shuld just plant your own intstead of getting grimmy ass karma stealing peoples weed plants freek.
Also its really hard to tell from your description if it is infact cannabis plants.but also be aware that their are quite a bit of plants like look very similar to grow very similiar and can confuse you for mairjuana if you didn't know at all what to look for.
Of course if you knew than you would know. I suggest looking at some pictures for yourself.

If it is in fact cannabis, it is most likely just naturally growing ditch weed which has little or no THC in it.

i've seen a couple of small undergrowth plants that look like pot, usually grow straight up from stalk. , you'll know for sure when they bloom! Even if its pot, its going to taste like dirt and probley not have much thc- it would've been washed off by rains :\

Certainly would not have been washed off by the rain, people grow pot outside and it works just fine . It's posible that it could be "wild hemp" that was grown for industrial uses years ago. It's like a weed in some places and it has very low THC counts as it was break for hemp production. If it's cannabis at all.

Huh. I guess I'll have to tell that to the plants that grow like, well, weeds out in the country near my parents place.
I'm sure they'll fall over and die.....

wow so where did it originate? maybe in your basement. haha jk. of course it grows wild still, the us govt still spends millions every year on wild pot (hemp) eradication programs. as far as rain washing it away, ha some only when it starts reaching full maturity and the trichomes start to dry up and become brittle. until then they are oooohhhhyyyyy goooooeeeeyyyy. peace

It doesn't sound like someone was trying to hide them, I say if they are cannabis then take them.

About 8 years ago a friend of mine thought he had found some weed growin near this guys house he was workin at, he brought it to me, it looked very similar leaves n all, long story short it turned out to be a flower called "Black Eyed Susan" .
they look identical till they get 3ft n taller then they produce large orangish-yellowish flowers.
Might be the same thing you found...who knows.
