Humidity Problem
    #4252414 - 06/03/05 04:08 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

Ok I added about 4 inches of perlite to bottom of fruiting chamber, I filled it up with water about 3/4 way. Put a couple cakes on lids in the middle. Just lightly added some verm. to the cakes ( I dunked last night) and put some verm around the base of the cake, then lightly misted. Humidity has always been 50 in the container untill today. Now the humidity is only 75. I dont want to buy a humdifier or any expensive equipment. Is there a way to raise it even more without purchasing anything? thanks for the help

I've never had luck pouring water on top of perlite, it always seemed to work best if you soak, drain, and then fill fruiting tub with several inches of thoroughly soaked perlite. If I remember correctly that's the fix, but it's been eons since I've used perlite.

You can mist the chamber walls manually with a hand sprayer, that should bump your humidity quite a bit.
