In Need of Lab Work
    #4251887 - 06/03/05 12:40 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I'm looking for a lab that I can have a piece of air filter analyzed for airborne contaminates. I have a small sample to send that I beleive may contain traces of asbestos and other contaminants.
My privacy is important because I could be fired from my job if my idenity was revealed. Also must be an accredited lab with results that will hold up in court. There will be a few of us going in on the cost, but would still like to keep it low.. Any suggestions? I could Google it, but was looking for recomendations.

I have a friend that consults as a forensics expert in cases all over the world. I tried to call, but got his voice mail. I left a message and will let you know if he has any recommendations.

You might try the local university. Talk to somebody in the chem dept and see if they have any recommendations. The EPA might be another good starting point for recommendations. Try to stay local if possible. It will be much cheaper if you have expert witnesses local to testify than if you have to bring people in from somewhere else in the country.

The husband of another friend of mine works for the EPA helping close down old nuclear missle silos. I will send an email that way as well asking for any ideas, though I doubt I hear anything back. It has been many years since I spoke with either of these two and we didn't part on best of terms *chuckle*.

Just another spore in the wind.
