Smokey Mtns...??

hey, temps have been in low 70s with rain last night, my friend said he saw a bunch of mushrooms on a hike a couple weeks ago.
Any suggestions as to What to look for.
any help is appreciated.

Hrm... Smokey Mountians are in NC correct? If so, theres not much to be found this time of year =\

Look for Amanita muscaria and Psilocybe calaeurpes(sp?). There's not a whole lot of active mushrooms to be found in the mountains on the east coast.

red cap: pale/ white spots: White Gills

First... are some kind of Conocybe, maybe Dunce Caps... not active.
Second... looks more like Russala emetic(sp), or the "Sickener" than Amanita muscaria. The Sickner lives up to its name, if you eat it, you will vomit profusely and get gerneraly pretty sick.
Third... no telling..
