Ganodermra Tsugai
    #4247606 - 06/02/05 01:02 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

A few macros. Substrate is wood chips, sawdust fuel pellets and coir. Hydrated with coffee and supplimented with a bit of molasses. Grown from 1" diameter holes in one gallon ziploc bags. I have some G. Lucidum spawn growing out now, so we'll see if it can compare to the beauty of the G. Tsugai in antler formation. I don't extract medicinals so have no reason to develop conks for the extra biomass. I like the antlers for the artistic value. These are still growing rapidly, but I see new antler pins forming on the antlers that were already formed. This is one of my favorite fungi.

these are really looking nice roger.

i would love some info on your invitro ganoderma lucidum projects,
please put some up.

growing reishi IN jars / bags would be outstanding and because
i got a cancer patient in my family, i would greatly appreciate
the option of being able to grow it invitro.

i am strongly convinced of ling zhi's medical powers.

I've grown invitro fruits of reishi, but couldn't ever get past the taste/smell. They grow the above way very well. Simply fruit from the open jars or as above, cut a small hole in the ziploc or myco bag and let them fruit from there.

hey RR, where did you get your tsugai culture from?

does anyone know the medicinal properties of tsugae? it grows wild here but lucidum does not so it is our local alternative..

An indoor mini-greenhouse. My fruiting environment consists of a PVC frame covered with plastic sheeting. It measures 1 meter deep by two and 1/2 meters wide, and extends with shelving from the floor to the ceiling. I keep two cool mist humidifiers inside connected to a humidistat set to regulate at 80%. Air exchange is provided by a very loose fitting door and a 4" clothes drier hose connected to the outside. Species that require higher than 80% humidity are misted every few hours as needed. A fogger on a cycle timer would eliminate the need for misting and is in the works.
