doesnt look like the gymnopilus that ive seen...
those look like the minichanterelle that grows here

where did you find em?? on the ground in conifer area? that sounds like the minichanterrelle..... gymnopilus grows on wood.. hardwood

yeah i dont think they are, i just wanted to think they were, i found them in conifer area. Not on hardwood. Damn. Are those others edible? They taste alright? :smile:

i love em! they're super yummy.. just make sure to get a definate ID on them as just telling from the pic isnt enough...

we dont get the same large chanterrelles they get out west here in VT so thats kinda all we got, and we enjoy em!

im super surprised you found them in the spring, what crazy weather we are having! where are you located?

I would check for a forked gill structure.. I can't really see the gills well enough in the pic. It looks too bright.

cantherellus minor has a stem that is slightly different sort of like winter chanterelles.
those are Cantharellus cibarius
