This cake finished colonizing before the others so it was birthed and this is what came out. I have already picked the larger two now because the veils broke within a day of the pic. There are two sized ones, one small, and two that appear to be pins that aren't doing much, maybe aborts ( I know they aren't visible because the camera I have right now sucks ) but thats besides the point I think. Most people's pics have many pins and many shrooms. My thought is that maybe it was birthed to late, or the temps and light weren't right immediatly after birthing ( I had to out of town the day after I birthed it for two days and when I got back it had fluffy new rhizo/mycelium all over it ) Any comments or help is welcome and appreciated.

they were dunked, but not rolled because I threw away the top verm layer and wasn't sure if I had to sterilze more or not so I didn't roll.

i'm on my first grow right now and if i get something like that out of it i would be satisfied, do you know the dry weight? or wet weight?

I don't know weights yet, because I had no scale when harvested. But it can't be much. They are drying in a dehydrator right now (american harvest snackmaster) but it looks pretty puny compared to other noobie grows I have seen. This is a link to my original post-

1/2 pint PF tek, dunked, terrarium with damp perlite, light 12/12. Help me experts, could this be caused from not rolling, I could understand some loss in weight and pins...but that much! Plus keep in mind I dont know how much wet shrooms weigh since I have never grown but I know(think) that there should be more.

If all those mushrooms matured, I would say you got .4 g. dry.

For the rest of the cakes, try the roll. No need to sterilize the Verm as long as it just comes straight out of the bag.
If you want to be extra safe, you can nuke it in the microwave to sterilize.
Nice looking fruits btw.

Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully it will weigh more than I think it will, but if not...it was still cool for a first try. Maybe the other colonizing cakes will work out a little better, or upcoming flushes. Thanks again everyone, I will keep you guys posted. Peace

Just as the smaller one in the picture matured and was picked, I noticed 6 new pins coming out! Hooray! So I assume this is still part of the delayed first flush, am I correct? Who cares I am ecstatic.
