hey Ive been hunting mushys since last year and the only kind Ive ever found were cubes. today I found a smaller different looking kind with a purple ring and dark purple print like cubes and a similar smell. I live in southeastern louisiana. do any of you know if these are active? or should I stay away from them? I found them all in one pile of cow manure. I'll have a pic of them later

They could be Pan. cyanescens, could also be a petit strain of P. cubensis. Need more info!

Laplace or the west bank. I know where a TOP NOTCH field is in St Charles. I can't think of any that still produce in Laplace.
Used to be one off of 3217 , but there aren't anymore cattle last time I checked.

I dont think they're pan cyanses cause they have a veil. the stem and cap are light brown/tan. they are very small.

I found a few of them in Laplace , on the wetsbank too. It took me awhile to find out what exactly they were. Take a spore print first & look for bruising.
Too me they seem to be more potent that cubes , just not nearly as big.

I'm probably going tomorrow. Not too far from the North shore. I figured I'd wait a day after the rain , so I'd get more than babies.
