Diffrences of Strains
    #4244194 - 06/01/05 02:54 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Ok, I don't understand how some ppl say that diff strains of cubes give you diff trips, when all that is present in em is psilocybin, psilocyn(sp), and bystwhatever. Every trip I've had has always been diff than others anyway being it acid or shrooms. I have been eating the same strain for months now and have had many very diff trip along the way, some very visual some not so visual but I was very mind fucked.

Basically I'm just saying that I don't see how some ppl say they get diff trips from diff strains, it's all in your head.

Yeah I see what your saying shirley, but i haven't ever been able to make a true distinction from strain to strain.

neither have I pinkfloyd, and I doubt anybody else really can either. I've grown and eaten literallly dozens of strains. No way could I identifiy a strain from the trip alone. I don't think anybody can even do better than just an educated guess if they watched the entire cultivation process, saw the live shrooms, examined the dry ones, and ate them. It'd still be just a guess.

There are differences between strains, but they are only tendencies in growth characteristics and phenotypic expression. Trip quality is not something that goes with a strain.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

There are so many variables - besides strains. Substrate & cultivation conditions are factors. Your dose, size, health, fitness, stomach content -- all make a differance.

Just an asumption here, but is it not true that even with the same strain and dosage, your trips will vary? Not only due to how you are feeling at the time and where you are and who you are with, but I mean, even if you tripped twice in(let's think...somewhere with a controlled environment...Okay, I think I got an idea) your garage. Lights out. Same time of day, tripping alone, same emotions, even. I believe that an additional factor would be the experiences yo have had since your last trip. Not psychadelic experiences, but just day to day things. Your subconcious would have new information, possibly new things to be sorted out and understood. The additional information that you have acquired since the last trip, regardless of whether or not it was in the altered state of mind, could (at least in this theory) alter your trip to a great extent. But, that is just my opinion, being pulled out of my ass as I typed it. But it could be worthy of consideration.

Well, yes. You're right, a lot of factors influence how your trip goes, just like a lot of factors influence your day to day life in general. Two big factors here are set and setting, where you trip and what kind of mood you are in.
