NOw if I am going to try Oatmeal, how should I go about doing it. Soak then add to jar then PC. I dunno if Oatmeal will work. Anyone tried it. I;m gonna try a jar of Rye maybe to. Where could I get rye, As for all the poly fill and stiff. How come I need. Actually I;m not even sure where to get it. WOuld coffee filters work. I;m probabl;y only gonna use 1/2 pints. As for when you take grains out of the jar, you break it up right. ALso with 50/50. Verm then sub then casing mix or casing mix Sub then casing mix. If someone could actually answer ALL of these instead of one, be greatly appreciated

You need to do some searching. Seems like i was reading three threads on the board at the same time about oatmeal just hours ago. It seems like I read that it turns to mush (just mush). Also, if your gonna try something new, you would be best off to get creative

not sure i understand all of the Qs, but i"ll give it a shot.
^I am going to try Oatmeal, how should I go about doing it?
its been a while since i did oats , but as i remember... don't use packaged out meal off the grocery shelf, go to feed store(cheapest), or health food store. and buy rolled oats.(the less processing and additives the better.) now soak overnight, and rinse as much of the excess starch out as you can, drain well.(it is vary important to drain until it is almost dry, it shouldn't drip at all.) next mix some verm with water to field capacity, mix this 50/50 w/ oats, and PC.
oats should be a little dryer then verm, so it draws a little moisture from the verm, instead of the verm sucking starch from the oats.
^Where could I get rye? feed&seed/health food store.
^WOuld coffee filters work? maybe, if you use 10 per jar
^As for when you take grains out of the jar, you break it up right. if using as spawn, yes.
^ALso with 50/50. Verm then sub then casing mix or casing mix Sub then casing mix? if desired, a thin layer of moist verm can be used in the bottom.(it should be sterilized or at least nuked.)some do this but i don't. next spawn & substrate (mixed or layered, doesn't matter) next, incubate until fully colonized. then case. there is a lot more info on casing, bulk substrate and filters ect. in the FAQ
