. . .the shrooms you planned to consume were in a state somewhere between fresh and dry. Is there any way to gauge a dosage? Sounds like a stupid question and I know many of you will just say wait a few days until dry, BUT the problem is, I'm leaving town in a few days and my friend who has never tripped before has just harvested his first crop and is a little anxious to trip. I would like for him just to wait till I got back but unfortunaly I doubt he will.

If you can, stick 'em in front of a fan for a couple of hours (or overnight, even better). If they're mostly dry, treat 'em as if they were totally dry and up your dose a little (10% maybe). If they're mostly wet, I'd treat 'em as fresh, maybe lower the dose a little.

Your best bet is to get them as dry as possible first if you don't like 'em fresh, else just eat 'em straight out of the tray.....

<edit>If he has some fresh ones, take one rougly the size of one of your half-dried ones, and compare weights. It will give you some basis for determining how much water is left in the dried one....
