Spiritual Growth through Peer Validation

This appears to be some people's outlook. I contend that we all must blaze our own path and seeking approval from others only slows our growth and promotes insecurity, as their approval can be rescinded at any moment. This is not to say that we don't learn from others, but the constant looking around for validation is indicative of fear; not spirituality.

Isn't this self-evident? I didn't even know a post like this needed to be stated, as to me it seems like if you didn't accept it you wouldn't be able to escape orthodox teachings enough to even consider philosophy and knowledge.

indeed for a 3rd time; took me a while to realize that though. Part of my personal discovery of that came from a book of all things. That and a really intense acid trip that I just approached incredibly poorly.

Can I inquire how you blazed your path, how you have increased your rate of growth and promoted your own security?
Is my question okay?

The question is, if enough people disagreed with your opinions in this thread, would you change them?
I say you'd follow your human nature Swami. After all, you're rather glib and cunning, good at questioning like Socrates, but you're no Zarathustra, eh?

Of course not. Only Zarathustra was Zarathustra.

Is mass opinion truly, in your judgement, the divining rod for what one should believe?

Not I, but my original post was directed to the Eternal Swami of the Fertility Rod, not myself.
If enough people banged it into your head from birth that spiritual growth through peer validation is the way to go, could you escape it?

Swami said: "but the constant looking around for validation is indicative of fear; not spirituality. "
Well then swami, I agree with whoever here said you were on the cusp of a break through if you just figured that out.
You want all of your information and facts validated from sources YOU trust that have physical repeatable proof. Does that make you a trail blazer going your way not in need of validation from others "like Randi" to be accepted?
According to your original post and your constant need for validated facts and proof, it would indicate you are in a lot of fear and not in spirit.
There are many trail blazers here going their own way and they have no "credible validation" for it other then their own experiences. They trust in spirit and themselves.
You tell others to practice before they preach. Consider taking your own advice on this one.
You are number 1 King here of "it's got to be validated and repeatably provable by a source I follow and trust before I will believe it." IN FEAR to go your own way is all that says.
So, the next time you bring up requests for validation and give a thumbs down to one who shares insights and experiences without valid proof, I can bring this link up to remind you of your words and advise?
The ones who share without it don't need to be accepted or they wouldn't share the unverifiable stuff risking being called nuts, delusional, etc. The ones who share and require "validated info only" are the ones needing to stay in the safe boundaries of what is generally accepted, to be accepted. As you said, that's not being in spirit, that's being in fear.

I don't think Swami just "figured that out" tonight. He posts little topics like this all the time to get discussion going.
