I just take a small whole chicken, (insides removed of course) cut it in half (in between the 2 breastbones) with a big knife so theres 2 exact halves both with one breast one leg and one wing, and cover it in chicken spice and then throw it on a hot BBQ on the leg side for a minute or 2 to sear in the juices. Then I turn it onto its breast side so the inside of the chicken and breast BONE side is facing the flame. Then I turn down the heat to low and cook it for 40min on the BBQ. After about 30min I turn the heat up a bit....and U have to always have water handy for chicken.
