Are pins supposed to look like this?

Four of my jars colonized 7 days ago and I cased 3 of them using the sea of shrooms tek while I left one whole in cake form. 3 days ago, I noticed what looked like a small brown bump on my cake. I got excited b/c my shrooms were beginning to pin. On the cased cakes, the pins look like tiny mushrooms, but the pins on my cake look like a big mole. That's the only thing I can think to compare it to, there's about 6 in total one in particular has gotten very large. Imagine a brown blueberry and that's about the size of it with no noticable stem. Is this normal for cakes? I would have a pic, but the smallest file I can make is still too large to upload here..sorry.
