AFOAF is in the process of making mimosa hostilis wine by cold water extraction. He blended 49 grams to be split two ways. This is put in a Tupperware with 250 mL of water in the fridge for an hour, performed twice. Are there any comments or suggestions for this method of ingestion?

tastes bad. 49g is good for one person, ayahuasqueros need more. it works. no need of fridge, 20 minutes are fine. just break the pieces and pound/break it in the water.
extract twice.

I know someone who tried this cold water extraction. He couldn't drink the end product because it tasted so grainy, like liquid saw dust. This was after it was left in the fridge for an hour or two to decant too. Is this normal, and is there anything to combat the dryness?

It tasted grainy?  Like saw dust, really?  I wonder why a tea made from powdered root bark tastes like wood...

I believe Letto's refering to adstringency. Not to the taste itself.

Do you have some MHRB on you?
If so, break a very little chunk and chew it. You will immediately understand what he's talking about.

I bet the tea doesn't even taste like wood at all.

I was just busting his chops a little. Letto is actually a friend of mine. What I was refering to is how the texture of the drink reminds me of the bark itself...like drinking a carpet.
