Rat on your friends and family...or else.

Proposed legislation would compel people to spy on their family members and neighbors, forcing all Americans to become foot soldiers in the war on drugs.

I don't know about you, but this kind of thinking in the government scares the shit out of me...and I don't even live in the U.S. Can you imagine being arrested because you didn't report to the cops within 24 hours that your brother bought some weed?...

ya i saw on TV a few weeks ago the story of three friends who were freshmen in high school, two girls and a guy, who were chilling together one night, and the guy pulls a joint out of his pocket, starts smoking it and asks the girls if they want to smoke. Apparently, the girls weren't such good friends with the guy because the next day these bitches reported his ass to the cops, and the poor fella was arrested.
The girls admitted that they didn't really like him actually.
If i remember correctly, the girls said that they were tempted to call the police because of some ad they saw on TV that said they should call the police if they suspect or know of anyone that uses drugs.

It would scare me as well if it were in fact the government thinking that way as opposed to a single member of Congress.

i found this in the bio of the congressman who proposed the legislation:
"Throughout his public life, Congressman Sensenbrenner has been at the forefront of efforts to eliminate wasteful government spending and protect the interests of American taxpayers. He has regularly been cited by the National Taxpayers Union as one of the most fiscally responsible House Members. "

Excessively politically inclined people who think one way or the other tend to get sanctimonious and engage in demagoguery . And, sometimes they engage in hypocritical acts that are the exact opposite of what they proclaim to be. When they do this, the rest of us laugh and jeer.
I so want to call Rush on his radio program and say, "Hey Rush, some friends and I are gonna party with some 80 milligram Oxy's. You should some over and get fucked up with us man!!"

This is an example of "political fluff". It's a bunch of words that sound good but mean nothing. Put there just to make the politician look good.
Check the bio of any politician and you will get a bunch of "political fluff".
Means nothing IMO

We should make a law that says whenever some wrinkled old asshole politician tries to pass legislation like this, they go to jail for a manditory minnimum of 10 years.

I would kill the rats and as many police officers as I could before I went down in a spray of red.
...hoping everyone did the same.
One of the very few incidents where I would raise arms against my government.

Killing yourself isn't the way to make change.
You have to destroy everything but escape with no one knowing who did it. Burn down government officials' houses, government offices, police stations, making sure to cover up your tracks, and then run and tell no one. They'll get the message but have no scapegoat to crucify.

seriously..is there really any way to stop HR-1528??...even if it doesnt pass congress as a stand-alone..sensenbrenner will simply attach it to a war spending bill like he did with REAL-ID...

Are either of you serious? The Constitution has been interpreted out of existence; what makes you think this would be found unconstitutional when the entire drug war has no constitutional basis (and in fact the precedent would dictate that the constitution should be amended for a drug prohibition)?

You know damn well this would never pass through the courts. Both the conservative and liberal judges would be against it.
