ok well i found there out in the lawn. it was fertilized about a week ago,and it just rained for a while. these came up the next day.
some have dark round rings around the cap. I live on the eastern side of the U.S. Some of the caps are as wide as a half dollar while some are penny size or dime. they are not completely round. spore print looks black. the stems are long and skinny. ive been comparing them to the Panaeolus Subbalteatus, and they look like it. Can anybody help me?

aye, looks like subs, spore print=black i'd say they are subs
print a few more and if they're consistently black i'd go for it
but by all means, you probably shouldn't do what i would [:

there are two possibilities here:
if the spore print is black, they are the active Panaeolus subbalteatus.
if the spore print is brown, they are the in-active Panaeolina foenisecii.

activity is beyond debate. fact is, the species (and genus) paneolina are not organisms that produce psilocybin or psilocin. not all paneolus mushrooms do either.

I could tell by looking at the gills it was not a foe. On foes they usually protrude below the edge of the caps.

well the bad news is i think the prints are brown. the very light prints look brown to me,but some of the better ones look black. im color blind so im going to get a second opinion. could these 2 species be growing with each other?

you can tell they are foens. from the stems they are to thin and brown, subbs have thick stem that are a more cream color.

Brown print? Huh, My yard is full of foes all the time and the biggest one I've seen had a cap less than the size of a quarter, usually dime to nickle size. Unless the writing on the paper below the mushrooms is really small they would all be the biggest foes I've ever seen. Plus, they print here a really deep brown which can look almost more black than brown. Not saying they are subs,(brown print) just saying they appear to be much larger than any foe I've found in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Also the gills are not foe like in my experience, which is not much. Damn, I better print again this year,I might be mowing something I shouldn't
