National Audubon Society Field Guide...

I have read many good reports about this book, but it seems lacking.
Most of all, I don't see any information on Pan. cyan.. I am still confused about this mushroom (so I may be misunderstanding).
But the book also seems short on info. on most species of interest.
Also, it seems to list a wider variety of agarics than other sources, and lesser on others.
The key is really good, but lacks much. So, what is it that makes this a good book. Is it the way it is used in conjunction with Mushrooms Demistified?
I am setting up the fugi program for my pc, my BDay is next week. What should I be looking at?

I have both Audubon Field Guide and Mushrooms Demystified. My opinion is that Mushrooms Demystified is a much better book. It has much better keys (at least I think so).

The Audubon Field Guide has some nice images and descriptions but I just haven't really found it useful in identification too often.

I have found it quite useful in identifying common mushrooms because of the color plates, pictures can ether confuse you or help you find a mushroom quickly. But definitely agreed it is a bit lacking.
