Birdseed looked fully colonised, is it?

Hello everyone...Ok, I had what looked to be a fully colonised birdseed cake. The entire jar has been white for a few days now. I waited a few days to make sure the whole jar was done. I even turned it upside down for two days. When I dumped the cake into a ziploc to crumble it, it just fell into loose seed. Most of the seed doesn't look white but has a little whittish on it. It's like all the mycelium disappeared when I dumped it into the bag. Is this normal? Is it suppose to look more like there's more seed than white mycelium? Please help.
Also is it ok to put the crumbled cake in the bag, back into the TiT incubator if it's not done?

That's normal, kinda freaky though, isn't it? That's why WBS is so good for spawn, all those inoculating sights.

Yeah it looked so compact but it just broke into loose seed. I just wonder does it have to have a fluffy ball of mycelium around each seed or can the seed just look like a seed with nothing coating it but still be filled with mycelium. I dunno, help. I don't want to case if all the seed isn't done colonising since I have a few other jars identical to this one.

It can look just like seed. Deceptive. I shook the shit out of my first batch and thought the same things you are.

Well then I'm probably ok then. Woooo that's good cause I thought maybe only the outside of the jar colonised leaving the inside uncolonised. I found a post like mine, the guy said it looks like the mycelium has been rubbed off the seeds but that's just the way it looks. So I'm hoping I'm good and plan to case the cake tommorow. Oh yeah here's the post I read just like mine: Similiar Post

be careful, until you know which lumps are colonized and which ones arent. This chunk of seed is fine for a casing as long as i dont crumble it. ITs still sterile on the inside even thought its not colonized
Opps too late and not worth it now that i have exposed it to the air, time for the trash. Be sure that your sub is 1005 colinzed before you open your jars.

Thanks Tahoe, nice illustration. I was looking for a pic like that. My seed didn't even hold together like that, it just slid into the ziploc and instantly crumbled. Yes I'm fairly sure it had to be fully colonised since it was completely white top to bottom for 5 or more days. Or at least I hope it is since I don't have much white showing after I crumbled it. I'm gonna wait a few more days before opening my other jars, just in case.

Waiting a few more days sounds like a plan. Fully colonized wbs jars are pretty well held together like in Tahoe's pictures. Mr. Owl had to use a knife and cut his out of his regular pint jars.
Anyways, welcome and good luck.
