Hello everyone. I have a few major questions. So I shall ask them to the professionals in this group.... 1. What is the time frame from innoculation to fruiting using the Hydrapod? 2. What is the maxamum amount of oz. one can yield using a Hydrapod? 3. What is a DB Kit? 4. What is the most potant strand of shrooms? Will this strand grow well with the MMGG method? I know these are a lot of questions, but i want to yield massive "crops" and as a rookie, I need all the information I can get! Thanks a lot!

i cant answer your questions about the hydrapod because i dont own one but i can assure you that you wont yield anything massive as a rookie..unless you do a lot of studying up and you are very lucky on your first try..

if u try to expect "massive" crops on your first try, you will most likely (but not neccessarily) be *VERY* dissapointed.... it takes a few tries to get the hang of everything. After that you can move on to bigger and better casings and flushes.

the most potent shroom is gemerally psilocybe azurescens, and I do believe they would colonize a MMGG jar given some lengthy time but if youve never grown before i would say your chances of failure (especially indoors) would be close to 99.9%. If youre looking for strong shrooms grow some Thai shrooms; pink buffalo, lipa yai, or koh samui. I just started some Puerto Rican Psilocybe Cubensis shrooms and i hear they are nice and strong, they rank up there maybe even stronger than thai's. I just innoculated 5 jars sunday night and saw my first germination this morning :). hoping to have them colonized in 14 more days but i can guarantee azurescens would take about a month to finish a 1/2 pint cake. thai shrooms can colonize in a jar in like 10-12 days from innoculation to birth, im gonna start them tomorrow. for teh terrarium, I would suggest just getting a big plastic tub ($5-10 from walmart or k-mart) and some perlite (about $4 for a big ass bag) and read some teks. you could make literally 10 setups that would be approximately twice the size of a grow-pod for teh same money, if its a large yield youre looking for. two 10 gallon plastic tubs will hold a lotta cakes, i would guess maybe 10 in each one and that will get you a VERY amount of shrooms.

Azures, the most potent mushroom, does colonize traditional substrates with abandon. However, they are next to impossible to get to fruit indoors, even with refrigeration. Basically, you won't be growing Azures for your first couple years. Most grow them in beds outdoors, and it takes several seasons before they fruit. If you have to ask how difficulty Azures are to grow, then you won't be growing them ...at least for a long time Grover

hydra-pod - first flushing was harvested after the 6th day of being in the growing space - out of the jars. yield - I got 1 and 3/4 oz. dried from my first 2 flushings and I am drying my third flushing right now and getting more signs of pins on my forth flushing already. All this has been within a month so far and still waiting to finish. When they are all done - I will post the total yeild results for you.

The strains were mixed from some older sirynges from ryche hawks and some new ones from myco-tek. Some of the jars did'nt make it - but I managed to get 7 good ones accept that I lost track of which ones they were along the way - so I can't say for sure which were really which but they all did better than the ussual. I think they were all Cambodin and gulf coast and maybe australain. One of those was a bad batch but I do'nt know which one it was. I used 7 half pints with brf and per mcmans instructions I only used a little bit of verm - like less than a third worth of the regular pf formula. He said its better to have more brf for more nutritions out of the smaller cake size so I can get better flushings from the cakes. I guess verm takes up space and does'nt give any nutrition to the flushes or something like that. I am waiting to total up the final yeild from them - they are still flushing.

Beppomarx - reread my first post again. I said I got 1 and 3/4 from the first *2* flushings - not one flushing.
