Anxiety Disorder

I have an axiety disorder. I used to take medicine for it (Luvox) but I stopped taking it about 3 years ago. I've been fine, but I was thinking of tripping for my first time tonight. It would be alone so I was wondering if anybody would recommend I take a Luvox beforehand (There's a bottle left over from forever ago) and if it would have any negative/positive effects in correspondance with the mushrooms?

If you do not want to risk giving rise to psychological problems, you'd best not use mushrooms. Having a medicated anxiety disorder and having gotten off the pills tends to mean you have found an internal balance. That balance can be seriously thrown to either way by using mushrooms or LSD.

Given your anxiety condition I advise you to not trip at all, period.
You clearly have substantial psychological problems (anxiety disorder) prior to ingestion which can be the ticket to complications that endure after the Trip wears off.

My last mushroom trip pushed me to get off my anxiety meds (6mg klonopin / day) and I'm slowly working my way off. Life in general has improved. I started eating healthier, working out, and everything is just great. I can't even say the last time I felt anxious.

If it weren't for that trip I'd probably be asleep right now from being overmedicated.

You don't have much to worry about unless, well, you worry about it. I've been in some pretty fucked up mental states in my life and dosed and things got better. This happened on mescaline as well.

Either way, safe journies, and YMMV.

I have relatively severe anxiety and the problem has never been increased by an occasional dose of the magic.  After a solid trip I feel less anxious then usual, in fact. Be safe and enjoy, if you so choose to trip.  :sun: :rasta: :tripping:

I also deal with anxiety and I noticed for a few days after taking mushrooms it was reduced a bit. Just take them at low doses at first to get used to them. The thing to be careful with when you have anxiety is probably pot IMO.

I agree with Wiccan Seeker that you probably shouldn't trip. But if you decide to anyways, I would suggest that you do NOT do it alone, start with small doses, and that you don't mix meds and shrooms.

There is a way to safely test a trip, but I'd be aware of the dangers and precautions.
