search search ......
yes, yes, yes, yes
and it depends on many other variables.. but much better yields than brf+verm if your successful.

Better yields from BRF cakes over casing....hmmmm....now that is an interesting statement....I would be highly skeptacle.

Using rye is not a tek. It is perhaps a method and there may be many techniques one might use when cultivating with rye...every slight deviations from PF cakes is not a friggin' tek.

Hump, you are asking US if you should try rye?....This is only a questions that YOU can answer. You have been given the information...you decide.

In a recent thread in mushroom pics you said:

"really? that would work good?
i cant find brf anywhere so that would be good
thanks "

This is reference to the use of rye.

YET....

In my thread on making rye shakables in mushroom cult you said:

?i hate fucking brf/verm cakes
so im going to buy a pc and do this
thanks!?

These posts were made on the same day. I was just curious as to how you had time between these posts to locate the allusive brown rice flour, use it to make cakes, and decide you hate BRF/Verm cakes.

Sounds like you'll need to try something else besides BRF/Verm since BRF is such an endangered species in your neck of the woods.

Perhaps rye will be one possible answer for you...perhaps not.

If you still are not convinced, I might suggest buying some brown rice from the store and throw it in your blender and voila!...brown rice flour. This is what many fellow shroomers do and I would be REAL FUCKIN' surprised if there is no brown rice where you live.

If you had read the tek thouroughly, you might have clued into the fact that many people make their own BRF. How can you hate something you know nothing about?

So, here you are asking if you should try rye....please try something and quit being such a poser.

I hate to lay it to you like this but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Hope there is no hard feelings..

Peace, Rhino

We are trying to help you, if you do not want to post in this forum seriously, don't.. but when you get a thurough answer from someone who was trying to help do not get angry.
if all you wanted was to know if it was easy to make jars of rye and/or the difficulty of operating a PC you should have just asked exactly that. Posting in mc instead of amc could have helped you out somewhat, although rye is somewhat of a bridge between beginner and advanced methods.

Thanks Myc...That was kinda my point Hump. I gave you some easy instructions for making rye jars....doesn't it sound fairly easy? On scale of 1-10...1 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest...I would place it at about a 2 and PF cakes at a respective 1....does that help?

As for copying your quotes I just couln't help myself I was real bored so don't get your panties in a twist.

Good luck,
Rhino

rye seems to be well worth the effort. being able to mix by shaking produces awesome colonization times. definately buy a pc why risk your time and effort over a $50 pot. coco coir seems to be a very cool product for casing. my friend just experimented with it for the first time tonight. it holds an amazing amount of h2o and is pH balanced. it is usually availably at hydroponic stores.
