Its been raining all this week on/off, yesterday it rained all day. I have three cow fields by where I live and I was wondering if mush is likely to be there and if mush grows in every cow field. Also when should I go to pick it?
Ummm do you know anything about mushroom hunting? Unless you have a good field guide, or at least have done a lot of reading, you should not bother. Mushroom hunting can be dangerous if you dont' know what you are doing, and its crucial that you learn before you attempt picking mushrooms.
You can always post pics here for people to identify if you insist on trying, but please for your own safety don't take this warning lightly, we don't want someone dying hunting mushrooms..... it makes it harder for the future of this hobby and brings bad press we don't want
OMFG osh_kock, sounds like you know as little about mushroom hunting as our friend Mr. "mush" does. Think about what you say before you say it.
What if he lives in Vermont? He's not going to find any cubies there, if anything he'd find an Amanita phalloides(death cap) and mistake it for a cubie.
Please, please, please be considerate of the infomation you give to newbies, it could mean the difference between life and death.
