I have a friend who claims to communicate with angels and the 'dead' (although she says they don't like to be called dead, so hence forth we can refer to them as corporeally challenged). She's a bright, tender-hearted, and downed-to-earth girl. She doesn't go out much though, and I can't recall her ever having been sexually involved with anyone. She stays at home and takes interest in foreign pop-culture, anime, and her form of spirituality.
Last week she was telling me about my former lives. I was interested, why not? Psychic readings, by whether they have a grain of truth to them or were merely fabricated by one hell-uv-ah actress, are pretty entertaining if on a slew of levels. So she told me about my past life in the late 1800's in France. My name was Marcelle. She also told me about my Spirit guide, who was my friend in that life, named Marius. My friend was with me, and she claimed that we too were both friends in that life and that we had a love affair. She told me intimate stories about that life which brought tears to my eyes just 'cuz they were beautiful stories (anyone woulda found them beautiful)!
As a medium, she channeled Marius, and in an instant she was transformed. Like somebody with multiple personality disorder, it was an incredible act (or more?) She spoke with a heavy French accent. The rhythm and prosidy to her voice changed, she became a heavy intellectual and mused about our past experiences. She (he?) told me about how exasperated he was in trying to reach me, and that he couldn't do it while I was "tranced out" (which I found mildly offensive but amusing) on LSD.
Later, she channeled her Spirit Guide, who is a dead Japanese rock star and that was a trip! It was halariously funny. We talked about music: everything from Marilyn Manson (who he had met) to Kiss, his favorite band. Even technical stuff I figured she wouldn't really know about. His attitude and habbits and styles were incredibly realistic.
Finally, she channeled Rafael, an angel. And everyone in the room got a big lift (like a freebee buzz) and he talked about how angels worked and did their business to direct us towards God. Lots of good humor and valuable insights.
The whole night was very bizarre, humorous, but also insightful. I dunno what her game is, but she has a very open heart and a clear mind and is hella entertaining.
Whaddaya think?

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.
It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.
I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too. If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Huh, thats interesting. In my opinion, shes one crazy little girl, but hell, if it was entertaining, she isn't hurting anyone, I guess it doesn't really matter.

I don't have any experience or knowledge disproving or proving the possibility of past lives so I really couldn't comment on the matter and if I did form an opinion on it it would defy all of my spiritual believes, I do keep an open mind on the possibility though, I think the wheels of life make very good sense when you consider the possibility.
Control is strain. And every strain creates tension, and tension creates necessity, a need to release...

I think she is either entertainer or fraud, depending on your point of view. Why speak with a French accent? This is way too "Hollywood". Why not actually speak in a language unfamiliar to the medium or in her natural voice?
If dead people, angels, demons, whatever; want to talk to us, why would they have a need to go through a disinterested third party? Angels are supposed to be incredibly powerful beings and could contact us directly if they indeed existed.
I was discussing the TV show "Crossing Over" with a friend. I find this kind of nonsense to be most harmful when it involves duping the families who have lost loved ones.
A typical line from the show," I see a male figure named Tom or Teddy standing near you." One audience member exclaims, yes, my cousin Toby died recently. "I see an injury or illness in the head / chest region." Oh, yes. He died in a motorcycle accident."
How profound. Let's recap in slow motion:
1. Some male member of the family died. These people go to the show because of recently deceased family. 50% are male. Notice that the host did not speicfy the relationship. Good call.
2> Tom or Teddy. Nope it was Toby. Because the name started with a T - that is a hit? Not at all. Notice that he was fishing for a match and let the audience bring the information to him, which he instantly corrects to Toby.
3. Head or chest injury or illness? Most deaths are caused by disruption to this half of the body as it contains the most vital organs. Few people die from a big toe injury.
On and on it goes...
One of the big dangers of "modern" society is that we give away our power to some other figurehead, be it a doctor, politican or medium, as we believe that we are ignorant and someone else has the answers.
If there was any truth to her performance, it would be possible to validate directly.
Anyone I have ever heard doing a past-life reading always tells the "mark" that they were some sort of powerful figure, royalty, warrior, adventurer, inventor, etc. Over 99.99% of the world is / was made up of peasants, workers and basic "nobodies". Why then, do not past-life readings tell you, "You were a farmer in outer-Slagovia who died from overwork at age 33?" Because it does not satisfy the EGO. However, if I tell you, "You were a powerful Samurai Warlord in feudal Japan", then I have your attention.
