My cakes are white but not fluffy, are they healthy?

hey all. i used the PF TEK for simple minds approach with PC Equador and i finished dunking last night. When i took them out of the jars they were fully colonized by myc (in fact it had even gotten into the verm layer and was holding on to it, so i dunked with the verm layer. i figured it would provide moisture from the bottom of the cake)

After dunking 24 hours i rolled them in dry verm and misted before putting them in the fruiting chamber. one thing i noticed is that while the cake was fully covered with myc, it wasn't very fluffy. rather it looked like it was pressed into the cake and had a very smooth surface. is this a problem? they've been in the PMP for 12 hours or so and they aren't looking very fluffy now either (they are covered in verm though). any thoughts would be appreciated

yeah the smooth surface is pretty normal for cakes and one of there inherent drawbacks but you dunked and rolled which is good the mycelium should hopefuly grow over the verm a little bit and give you an uneven surface which is better for pinning.  on you next grow i suggest you case those cakes you will be glad you did its easy
