They were shut down yesterday by the god damned FBI and DHS (fuckers, I hate them). Anyways, I was a forum mod on there and just wanted to give it the proper burial that it deserves. Did anyone else use Elitetorrents to get their torrents?

FBI and dept. of homeland security raided at least 8 states for elitetorrents.
Why we got shut down? Sharing illegal stuff :P

In the news story I read (skimmed through) I think the movie association was pissed off about the new starwars being availible the day before it came out and that so many people downloaded it in such a short time.

Everything was great about elitetorrents. We had our users upload music, the fastest stuff, great seeds, great admins and mods, everything.
Had a user base of 100,000 users as well.

Anywhere else you'd recommend for torrents now? With SuperNova and ET down (and several others) the only semi-reliable sites I know of are ISOHunt and TorrentSpy.

Why is the Department of Homeland Security involved at all in this matter? This is alarming. I thought they were to deal with terrorist issues only. Apparently I'm wrong.
