Ariocarpus Fissuratus (texas star) soil

I got this cacti from this guy on ebay. I currently have her in a pretty high % coco coir mix. I don't think it is enjoying this really. It could look slightly healthier. On occasion, I run a humidifier in the room this cacti is in. The san pedros seem to love the humidity, but not this one.

This species needs a very fast draining, low organic mix. Right now I'm using 75% perlite and 25% coir. So far so good.

The trick with this one is to leave the damned thing alone. Do not baby.

Hum I changed the soil, lots of coir, some soil and added rocks at the top. I pulled the thing and say new roots growing. It must have liked the soil it had before.
