Pressure cooking 2 layers?
    #422048 - 10/11/01 02:01 PM (21 years, 11 months ago)

I was wondering if I could build another layer of jars in my pc? Do the jars have to be submerged in water or do they just need the steam and pressure?

Yes, you can layer them. You only need an inch or two of water.

The water does not sterialize, it's the pressure from the steam.

don't submerge the jars in water!... its the heat that kills everything, and the pressure helps.

The pressure makes it hotter. It's the heat that sterilizes.

Stuff as many jars as you can in there. When the jars are in, the water should be about 1/2 way up the side of the bottom layer. 20 minutes is long enough.
