When are jars ready

I was using the shroom wizard's soil / vermicalite casing tek, and was wondering when the jars are optimal for casing.

I am assuming that it is when I cannot see any substrate in the jars, but before any of the worming things form.

Let us if you have any luck with the Shroomwizard stuff. I know people that have experience problems with his syringes in the past. The strains in reference too are Matzapec and North Georgia Cube...
