 Help compile a mushroom myth list

Hi everyone, we would like to get some input and ideas for a list of common mushroom myths that we can dispell on a small flyer that would be handed out in raves, burningman, etc...
Basically we are looking for the top myths that you hear on the street about magic mushrooms, examples such as:
1. Stems are less potent than caps.
2. Mushrooms make your brain bleed
3. Mushrooms are poisonous, thats why your stomach hurts.
etc..
Theres a ton out there, so please share with us your myths that you've heard out there

-Bluing determines potency.
-This no such thing as "hydro" shrooms.

-All mushrooms on dung are magic
-All mushrooms that bruise are magic
-The magic ones are the little brown ones

A little edit to some above and a few others
-Magic mushrooms only grow on cow dung
-Mushrooms make your brain bleed and swell (Both very common misconceptions)
-Vitamin C increases the effects of magic mushrooms
-You can easily over dose on mushrooms (A freevibe one, while in reality one could not physically ingest enough mushrooms to overdose)

myths:
1. caps are the potent part
2. the strong stuff is in the spores and the stuff at the bottom of the bag gets you highest because its all spores.
3. "BC bluecaps" are ever not the same old p cubensis from some guys closet
4. mushrooms can make you permanently insane
5. you can OD by eating mushrooms (fatally)
6. you can buy pychoactive mushrooms from strangers
7. paneolina foenisecci contains psilocybin
8. above but pertaining to p. coprophilia.
9. shrooms are only picked after the first frost
10. your average drug-user has any idea what hes talking about.

1.you can't field test a mushrooms toxity
2.pannaleous subbtaleus(sp?) are always tall, skinny, and dark
3.spores from a contaminated mushroom contain contaminated DNA
4.sporeprinted spores explode in the freezer

1) the gold dust on the bottoms of mushy stems will get you high if you smoke it
2) shrooms that have multiple colors are more potent than single colored shrooms(nontoxic airbrush)
3) if someone who has done shrooms before tells you a fact about them then it must be true

Vitamin C does increases the effects of magic mushrooms
only about half of the psyocybin is absorbed in the stomach if you drink orange juice with it the acidity pulls more with it look at the psylocybin producer's guide its talks about extracting with cranberry and orange juice because of this so... wrong there orange juice and other high vitamin c and acidic drinks do help pull the psylocybin into your system

Mushrooms will not grow in your ears if you do not clean them.
So please clean your ears.
Or is that potatoes?
But seriously, a main reason I regestered was because of this:
You will NOT notice a loss in potency from boiling tea or baking.
A lot of people read it and repeat it without any first hand experience. Tea without boiling for at least ten minutes is a waste unless you injest the wet mushrooms with it  Don't eat them, boil strain and toss. You will get higher than if you ate them and probably before you finish your cup. Breaking down an isolated chemical in the lab to find its degrading points is one thing. Being housed inside of the mushroom tissue that produced it with other chemicals and/or in water is another.
Anyone here ever have a personal experience where you noticed a change in potency due to exposures of any kind of heat? If any of you have and know it was due to excessive heat and not other factors, PM me so I can delete this. If not boil down six or twelve doses of tea for 10-30 minutes to the amount needed for a package of muffin mix, use the tea as water and bake them up in the oven for a half hour. Eat one and wonder why you havent made these earlier. Great for descrete traveling too.

Its a big myth in the states too. Seems like every newcomer I meet thinks that. I would like to hear the stories of how these myths were started.

-Not all bluing mushrooms are active
-It is very unhealthy to smoke mushrooms and has no positive outcome(will not make you trip)
-The golden flakes(verm) does not mean they are more potent

Perhaps this should be a new thread...
It would be most intriguing to hear further discussion on the boiling/heating of shrooms and the effects on potency.
Its a fact that the psilocin and psilocybin WILL break down at high temperatures... but how high? and how long at what temperature?
I've heard boiling over an hour is risky,
I've heard boiling at all is risky,
From experience, what have people found to be true?
I generally simmer for about 30 mins. (copes and cubes)This seems to be efficient.
Further myths:
-The fact that shrooms make you high is simply evidence that they are poison. (and the example of strychnine is often used)
and somewhat conversely:
-Entheogenic mushrooms have been used without negative repercussions for thousands of years. They are therefore completely safe, and extensive regular use (abuse?) is harmless.
I believe this to be damaging. Using shrooms daily is surely not healthy. Its all about balance. Perhaps there will be some avid users out there that will contest this claim; well, by all means do so, but leave your contact details so we can do a follow up in 10 years
