B+ woes
    #4217756 - 05/25/05 10:41 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Started doing bulk not too long ago.  I did a tray of H Doo (B+) that colonized for 7 days, then I hucked it into the fruiting chamber without casing layer.  Its been 2 weeks and I see one lonely ranger on the farm.  lol.  Just a brown/red head that's been poking at the surface for about 4 days.  Other knots & pins possibly.. it's been a while.  I'm only able to get blurry pics too :frown:

Anyone else experiance sloooooow B+???

Sam

I never had a problem like yours with B+'s. I love B+'s.

HuH....

That's the only sub tray that I haven't cased. I hope to share the same results as you backupwards, thans for the kind words.

When they start poking, I'll snap a few shots. When things take a while, I'm always thinking ... "I missed something" or "Oh shit there's a contam that I'm missing and I've fucked up". You know... the jitters. lol

My first cake's were B+, as well as my first casings.

Never had a problem, great cub variety.

Good luck with the jitters, it'll all turn out fine!

yeah man i know how you feel. on 5/15 i knocked up a bunch of jars with 5 different strains. eq, mexis, lipa yai, b+, and gt. the fastest colonizer of them all is the b+, 10 days and 1/2 pinters almost fully colonized, slowest is the eq just starting to show some good growth. gt, mexis (tapalpa), and lipa yai are about 30% now. tried wbs but i know they are too wet now as they are goey now with no visible growth yet. also tried a brown rice jar and it ended up to dry, but i noticed yesterday that it is starting to colonize.
good luck man, hoping for the best
peace
wish i could afford to get a digicam, maybe sometime.

backupwards.. good luck w/ WBS. I had no problems whatsoever. I tossed 1 jar just because I may have suspected something. B+ was very fast to colonize, fast spawner too!! Just slooooooooow to pin.

I think that's the kid from the Goonies in Rollins avitar... I'm pretty sure it's a gif from an 80's movie.

Sammy

Wish my girl & I luck today, she's got surgery on Friday and her pre-op is today. She'll be fine.. but send some good vibes to the NW US!!

Every name will vary genetics depending on the vendors spore source. My B+'s definatly arent slow..they are even with the SA and BM and MEX (maybe 12-24 hours behind some) but the B+ casing is the only one in my chamber right now (of 15) that doesnt have a nice solid, even pinset. Fruits are more sparatic. Had a hard time with the mycelium though, when I spawned it all sorts of bubbly growth (cottony dense mycelium, if youve ever seen it) so casing layer was hard to get even and I think all the peaks pinned first. Its WBS spawned to poo, all the substrates were prepared in the same batch and everything done the same and kept in same conditions. A few pins showed up first and more came after so you'll probably have the same happen, the casing wont be horrible or something most people would complain about...but yanno. I can put pics up later if wanted..

scatman.. you said "connony dense mycelium, if you've ever seen it". LOL! My casings are covered in it. I did B+/WBS==>poo & B+/WBS==>poo==>casing so far. All cottony. They're ALL taking a while. IMO.. no more B+.. at least from this strain selection. I'm taking on South Africans next.

Oh.. BTW Scat... your substrate mix is working PERFECTLY
