using old cakes... need reply ASAP * 1
    #421756 - 10/11/01 08:53 AM (23 years, 2 days ago)

ok i know there have been posts on ways to use old cakes to trip, but I would really like to know if there's any way i can prepare a liquid solution with all (most at least) the psychoactive compounds from the cakes, and be able to store it for a while, say a few weeks at the very least.
must dispose of cakes within a day or two.

thank you
David

My pet monkey has this done this many, many times successfully:

Chop up two cakes into chunks about the size of quarters, add enough water to cover the bottom pieces and the smaller chunks start to float. Boil for 10 minutes or so, then simmer for another 5. Drain the liquid through a strainer into a large cup or small bowl, and squeeze any excess liquid out of the chunks. Then discard the chunks and let the liquid cool. Cover the cup with aluminum foil, then freeze. That has lasted a month before, although you might want to make each dose 3 cakes if you wanna be sure (freezing might destroy some of the alkaloids, though my monkey says he thawed a 3-cake dose once a month later and it knocked his ass off.)

Some people claim it doesn't work, but maybe they prepared it wrong. This technique has worked fine many times, at least in my case

ever notice a diference in cakes that have fruited oposed to cakes that have not? I wonder if one is more potant than the others? If this is the case it may be worth having jars and jars of mycelium and making trippy juice drinks, or tripcicles...

MMmmmm Tripcicles...

I've tried this with verm cakes yes the liquid was brown and had a shiny tint when looked at the right angle, but I didn't use 3 cakes I just tried one so no it didn't work. I've never heard of any one with success with verm. cakes either but I know for a fact that people have had wonderful trips off of birdseed cakes. The only difference I can see is that the bird seed cake liquid will be much cleaner, but the way I heard to get the magic out was soak your 3 cake's in cranberry juice in your fridge for 2 weeks then consume. So who knows................

Boiling water apparently doesn't have an extreme effect on the potency, as two cakes makes for a hard hitting trip. For some reason it doesn't break the alkaloids down much, at least not in my experience.

Rice seems to work the best, but verm has worked in a pinch. Best time to use the cakes is after they've gone through several flushes, with bits of flesh stuck to them and maybe a few aborts. not much luck using younger cakes, which don't blue as readily when they first hit the boiling water.

My experience is certainly different, but a few of my friends prefer to take a shotglass of nasty water versus eating nasty twig like dry fruit

Yeah, the water will have a brownish tint to it and should smell kinda like warm mycelium :) It's not pleasent, especially if you have some floaties, but taking 2 cakes worth on an empty stomach should have you accelerating within 45 minutes.

How old are your cakes? Throw some aborts into the water if you pick them before you use the cakes.
