I don't think so...the thought is scary though.

The robot is obviously but greatly rendered, or stop-motioned and edited in real footage.
I would rather have robot cops than human cops/soldiers. Think about it, the robots would be rational, delivere fair punishment, wont be racist. Could go into dangererous situations without the risk of dying. Wont come back home from war with PTSD. Overall, it will save tons of lives on both sides of the spectrum.

I'm not so sure. Don't forget who's building the robots.

I don't think it would ever happen, or would it? Well maybe for the third world countries.

Nothing like an everending war...at least with the current system we get population control and the possibility of annihilating our species.

Wars will keep happening for while probably. I'd rather have robots killing people/robots, than people killing people.
The way it is programmed depends on the government which in turn depends on the usual stupidity of the largest part of the population.

If corporations don't get allowance to use things like this and people overcome their ignorance of government, I think it will be a great improvement for humanity.

I'm also quite certain these things will be built in this century. Just look at the Predotor spyplanes which are a step in the direction. They already outfitted a predator with a missile. They are still controlled by humans, but wont be for too long. There was also a recent contest in the desert sponsored by Darpa for a vehicle that could travel a not preditermed course of a 100 miles or something. The entrants didn't get far, but the X projects of the government probably do.

True they would be fair, if programmed so, but that isn't always good. Those guys wouldn't even let you off for having a little bit of pot, you would get a ticket or arrested everytime.

Nope it's not real. The technology is still quite a bit beyond us, although in about 20 or so years it could be a possiblity. I shudder to think of the implications....

I'd be happy. Id whack a robot pig. Unless there were witnesses of course.

But in all honesty I think it would be awesome. I would have no problem killing/destroying a robot cop. I wouldnt feel bad as it's not human.

i don't think that robotics will ever come in that form. while when it comes to software, we can literally work wonders - we're so far behind with building the hardware for such a robot.

i think, unfortunately so, that "artificial intelligence" will come about by mixing computer-software-technology with cellular structures, probably on the genetic level - in a sense having "living" cells controlled by a computer...
