Going on out of town for weekend, go ahead and birth?
    #4216358 - 05/24/05 11:23 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I'm leaving my place this Thursday and am not coming back until Sunday and I have a PFTek half pint jar fully colonized since two days ago. My terrarium set up uses an ultrasonic humidifier that keeps things at around 90-95 rh. I can have a friend flip the lightswitch on the light for it while I'm gone, but I don't trust him to do anything else with it (I trust him, but he doesn't know anything about this stuff, so I don't want to risk him ruining a cake by curiously taking a look).

Considering these things, should I dunk the cake tonight and put it in the terrarium before I leave, or should I wait to dunk it when I get back Sunday. This is my first finished cake and I don't want to ruin it.

I would just place in the fridge in a baggie the way it is until you get back
the cake will be fine
you can stall a cake like this for about a month or two and it will be fine when you take it out
just act like it just colinized

leave it alone and miss with it when you get back no need to stall it will be fine as you must give it 3 to 4 days after the outside is 100% to let the center finish!!!!!good luck and have a safe trippppppp!!!!!
