strain potency/dosage question

I bought some Columbian cubensis, which I was assured are extra potent, I need to know if I should be more cautious with dosage than with other cubensis strains such as thai? I haven also
read that all cubensis strains don't actually vary too much in potency

Yeah, I'd bet they aren't extra potent, and are just normal Cubensis.

I dunno about that - I only need to eat around 20g of the Colombians to get the same effect as around 30g of Mexican cubes. I need even less of the little Yangoons or Philippine shrooms.

They potency doesn't vary massivley in cubensis mushrooms, but you'd be in for a shock if you ate 30g of Yangoons when you were used to less potent mushrooms.

the variations between strains alone can vary alot, there's no real way to tell. there's also alot of psychological impact too, if you think itll be stronger, it will be ;D

Dealers say lots of things.

Very few of them are true in my opinion.

It has not been shown, I believe, that different strains of Cubensis hold radically different amounts of the four major chemicals (Psilocybin, Psilocin, Baocystin (sp? I'm a plant person), and nor-Baocystin), and thus, any variation in potency between strains is 1) in your head and 2) a part of the natural variation in potency between grows.

With the same strain, I've had very different strength trips.  Many factors go into how strong the experience is, including mindset, set/setting, etc etc.  Good luck with the magic!  :tripping:
