A few quick questions about my ongoing first grow..
    #4213843 - 05/24/05 01:14 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I've been seeing the first of the mycelial growth in 16 PF jars, and have a couple concerns. The growth is good, I just want to sustain it.

How much does air quality in the room affect my incubating jars? I keep the temp at about 82 and RH at 55, and spend a lot of time in here, but the concern I have is the amount of pot thats smoked in here (boxed about 50% of the time  will that affect anything?

Also, I convulsively check the jars. Will the light this gives them (8-10 times per day) cause problems?

has anyone else used ground millet? Of the two foods I'm using at this time, its colonizing much better.

Just check on em like every couple of days. I know it's hard but it's better that way, you don't wanna give em all that light. I don't think smoking in there will be a prob.

Also, I was reading some things about lights that cubes respond to, and learned they like ultraviolet light. Is this true, and does this mean I could use a powerful blacklight as a light source for my mushrooms?

Nobody told me that, I read here that UV was good, and figured since black light was UV light it might work. What kind of light sources make blue spectrum light?
