next time limit your light source to only the top of the bin. the shrooms are growing towards the light so if youve got light coming in from all directions theyre gonna grow in all directions

In my friends experience the "gnarled" stems are usually very dense and are very strong. Keep those for a special night.:) Is the light source your using artificial? If so are you running it 12 on 12 off. The best artificial light to use is anything around 6500K. You'll find these at the pet store for marine plants. Look for the Day-lite 65. In some cases fruit will grow in weird ways any way you grow them. LOL. bluhoney

temp 76-77 degrees
Rhumidity is around 80 -85 %

I don't keep any light directly over them, instead, I open the top of the fruiting bin and let indirect indoor daylight creep into the bin. it is a black bin, so there's only light coming from the top.

Once I had a flush like that and the gnarled shrooms were hollow. I have no idea what caused it.

Just because the bin is a solid color doesnt mean it blocks light. I had a problem with my jars pinning early. I did a test, light gets through the solid color rubbermaids.

Just a lil thought, damn im hungover right now.
Ugh.

Uh, whats your air movement like in there? I have found that not enough air movement with temps that are too high and too much RH gives me ugly stems. There is nothing wrong with them, they just ain't as purty.

Try getting more air movement and you might see prettier results.

Cut a hole in the lid of your rubbermaid and tape some saran wrap to the top. Make sure you get a good seal all the way around the plastic.

make the hole smaller than the width of the saran wrap, and just about as long as the lid.

this is what i used to use. i think it was a 50 gallon rubbermaid.

I got an aquarium air pump/bubbler in which a plastic lil' pipe makes bubbles in a glass full o' water, I can see why there is not much air movement, but the bin is not that big (round 30 Gallon). and no, the bin is totally black there's no way light could penetrate but from the clear plastic shhet that I use to cover the top with.

I'm about to harvest anyway, but I wanted to know cause I got another tray pinning and really don't want it to look like this one.
