freshness of woodchips question

I just got some woodchips yesterday,(Beech, Poplar, and Birch) fresh cut tree chopped and chipped in the same day. I read that there are enzymes in the wood, so they have to be aged. Is there any truth to this? If so how long do they have to be aged for until the enzymes go away?

my buddy paul recomends freshly cut stuff from spring time when it is full of sap and sugar

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

I have used freshly shredded freshly cut branches in the past. So, it should be ok.
