Fruiting Temp Issues
    #4209413 - 05/23/05 11:10 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Right now I have my fruiting chamber in the closet for stealth, I live in a concrete building (traps heat in), which makes too high fruiting temps a problem for me. So far temps have been around 76-78 degrees which is on the high end. I have opened a window and it only lowers the temp about a couple degrees, it is now getting hotter everyday and I fear the temps may get above 78 deg. Is it OK for me to move the fruiting chamber out of the closet and by the AC? I heard your not suppose to move the cakes once birthed as it can confuse the myc. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can keep temps in the optimal range? What is the highest temp that the myc will fruit at? I know around 74-78 is optimal.

My attic hits mid to high 90s and I've fruited there without problems.

Coolmist running 24x7 can help cool down some as well. As long as you have good humidity, the heat will be a lot less damaging.

2" hydroton (works like geo-lite, perlite) with 1/2" water and mist when I fan the chamber. Chamber seems very humid, condensation on sides. Myc seems to be growing MUCH faster now than when in jars, and has turned a very bright white and is starting to get fluffy. From my readings this is considered normal. Its my first grow, and I just want to be sure.

-I am a newb-

But I have read several times (and plan on doing this myself next week when I need it) .. Get some ice packs and place them around the fruiting chamber. That should lower it a bit. As for what kronny said.. I don't know if it matters as much if the RH is high... maybe you don't need it. But ice packs is what I keep hearing to do..

Good luck

just put them in a cool room like where the ac is, and let the natural light fruit them not direct you will be fine, and yes them fluffy knots are normal you will have pins really fucking soon maybe a day or two,if the temps are low 71 to 75 you will constinly form pis if the temp gets higher then that you wont, but the pins that have already formed will grow alot faster!!!!!!good luck

Thanks, I think that answers my first question, but is it OK to MOVE the fruiting chamber to a new location? will this confuse the myc and delay fruiting? Is this even a factor? I have read that you are not suppose to move the cakes once placed in the chamber. By the way I am using the PF-TEK.
