If you want to make mush, you could cook it.
I just soaked for 24 hours.

quinoa has a high tryptamine content, which depending on who you ask is either a good thing or doesn't really matter. I'd probably mix it in with something as well... quinoa can get mushy and bind really easily making it harder to colonize. Also, be sure to rinse it well because there's a caustic coating of saponin on the seeds.
The reason it's been referred to as a super grain is because it's got one of the best protein contents of any cultivated plant, is one of the only known plant based sources of all essential amino acids (inluding lysine), and is a great source of vitamin C, calcium and iron. It also grows well in rocky soil in high altitudes and yields tens of thousands of seeds per plant. Crazy stuff... no vegetarian should be without some.

RAPE - 50/50 RAPE/RYE - RYE Taking ANNO'S wise advice, 150 minutes @ 18 PSI in digital controled autoclave, rather than AA 941.
HOT out of autoclave. RAPE appears VERY MOIST. 50/50 mix looks perfect. Rye looks a bit dry. All shake very EASY.
Have some liquid cultures (LC) going. EQ, Mal, B+, GT, O/I, Tex & Aussie.
Going, going to knock a few up after cooling off (to room temp) period with LC.

RAPESEED (100%)... .......SUCKS(total failure - as spawn).
It has such a high oil content, once you PC... a quart jar.......it looks VERY wet & shakes easy. Within hours, there is about a 1/4 inch of oil in the jar bottom.
It will colonize a bit on top, but thats about it. Oil content causes a bacteria looking film.
When cleaning out a rapeseed jar, I found the content was an oily mush-like glob of rapeseed .
50/50 rape / rye is colonizing, but not near as fast as rye alone.
Rye alone is doing fine .
Since I have 40 lbs of rapeseed left, I will use it up at about a 2 percent additive to WBS spawn.
Now, I wonder how the hell spawnmate gets past the oil problem.

I had a similar experience with only 4% black mustard seed. Even with only 4%, it ruined my spawn grain. But it's not just the oil content that causes oil to escape the seed. Some seeds just give their oil up easily with heat while others do not. For example white mustard has about the same oil content as black mustard seed, both about 35%, but black mustard seed gives it up with heat while white mustard seeds don't. And the rape seed you observed such a problem with doesn't have all that much more oil than sunflower seed, but as you found out, rape seed gives its oil up with heat easily making it a poor choice for a spawn media (but still a good choice for a spawn supplement). Sunflower seeds, on the other hand, hold their oil content very well against heat and steam.

I can attest to the power of quinoa... I've used it alone as a grain and mixed it 10% in BRF cakes. I'd say that it increases potency, but I don't have much to compare it with since I haven't done other grains. The quinoa/BRF shrooms are better than plain BRF and I'm careful with the straight quinoa ones... B+ all the way around, but from different grows so conditions weren't a control.
