FL Audio Question...
    #4206248 - 05/22/05 12:25 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Everytime I start recording or playing back something I recorded in Fruity Loops 5 I get this hard and very annoying static sound like the speakers are about to pop.

This hasn't happened before until recently and I can't figure out how to remedy this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem with FL5?

I only have this problem if I've loaded a TON of vst's and effects into the file, and the CPU bar at the top measures high. FL just can't handle a ton of plug-ins.

If it's not this, then sorry I don't know

Yea, but there is an easy work around for the CPU thing, just prerender certian elements you already have the way you want.

Me and Eo.S used to make all our music on a 333 mHz for along time, so we did alot of this.

As for you ND, I think you need to look up clicks and pops.

But maybe you should record it and upload it somewhere, because it could be ALOT of things....

yes.. processor speed and soundcard interface can both be factors in getting static/skipping..

you can try loading FL Vsti into something like cubase.. that helps.. or adjust your audio latency in the audio menu..

yeah mixing down and bouncing tracks to slim down the complexity of the file will fix this, but then those tracks are finalized, which is sometimes a drag.

I'll try loading FL into cubase, that might be cool. FL is just easier to sequence certain things in than Cubase

You my firnd, are reaching the limits of your soundcard. Or processor. I can only parrot those that posted before me, you're cpu, or soundcard is working to hard. Bouncing CPU heavy tracks to WAV will help, so will saving up for a new soundcard. Also f#$%ing w/the latency settings in FL might help..

I have a pretty good soundcard, but my processor is OLD. that seems to be my biggest problem...

I'm trying to save up for a new comp along with an Alesis Photon

Seriously, it could be a few different things, the only way we will know and can truly help you is if you record the noise and post it.
