Couple of hours or less...

They don't do so well in plastic bags...

I'd dry them as well as you possiably can, then seal them...I'm sure that'd last Quite awhile...

NEVER vacuum seal fresh mushrooms. Like Ignostic said they wont last long at all. Your way better off drying them.

Hmmm...I was told that mushrooms were like vegtables...So then why not treat them as such...

Seems logical to me, it'd take out the air that plastic usually traps in...Hm...I'd wait for a more experience person to anwser your question...Just my .o2

No way dude, never treat a mushroom like a vegetable. If you put them in a plactic bag you cut off their ability to breathe and they will turn to real mush. If you want to store fresh mushrooms, put them in a paper bag and then in a fridge.

On an after thought, this is the reason grocery stores have paper bags by the portabellos and buttons they sell. And David Arora specifys in Mushrooms Demystified

"DON"T USE PLASTIC BAGS!! Mushrooms, like people, have to "breathe". Plastic bags trap moisture, making the mushrooms "sweat" and rot more rapidly.

Grocery stores sell them in styrofoam in plastic, the plastic has quite a few holes, i'm sure that they stryofoam and the holes allow for great aeration, whereas nothing But plastic wrapped around them would

No air in plasticbag - No worries, I Think...

It'd last probably a week or two at most - that'd be my best guess

Are you just not listening. THEY NEED TO BREATHE. I edited my post above yours with a quote from David Arora. If you are not sure of the advice your giving ignostic, dont give give any. Im not trying to be an ass, but if you take all of the air out, and seal them in plastic, they will rot within a day or two. Store them in a paper bag in the fridge.

Here is a link to the FAQ, it is a pathetic entry, as in short but it gets to the point of stroing fresh mushies.

Do not vacuum seal mushrooms.
Vacuum sealing mushrooms can lead to Botulism poisoning, not a good idea.
Look at the instruction booklet for any vacuum sealer, it will explicitly mention not to vacuum seal mushrooms.

You cannot simply vacuum seal fresh mushrooms, or they will spoil(rot).

If you have & want to spend big bucks?
You can use a Vacuum Desiccator to dry them, then vacuum seal them.
