Right conditions for fruiting and incubation.
    #4206179 - 05/22/05 11:56 AM (11 years, 9 months ago)

Sorry, I keep reading conflicting inro, I think. Anyways, all i'm wondering is what are the right conditions for incubation and fruiting? I'm looking for RH and temp. Also, other than fruiting and incubation, are there any other conditions I need to prepare for? Thanks, and sorry for the newb question. BTW, i'm planning on doing casings....

During incubation, temps of 82-86 are good, RH should not be so low that your substrate dries out, not sure what the upper limit is however.

Those are basically the two basic stages where you need to consider temperature and humidity.

fruiting temps 73-76 humidity 85-95 for casings, for cakes 95-99% humidity is good and you want to have plenty of air exchange going down

Incubating. Substrate temp. of about 86 degrees F. Since colonizing substrate can produce some internal heat, you should incubate at about 82-84 degrees, Horse poo produces a little more heat than cakes or grains so you should incubate h/poo at around 80- 82 degrees. Humidity around %30-%50.

Fruiting. 70-74 degrees F.
Humidity. Cakes %95-%100. Casing's can be fruited in this humidity until pins form. Then you need to lower it to %85-%92. Make sure you introduce light and fresh air exchange also.
