So.........it's been a while since I last posted.
I still want to startup the contamination faq.
Because I'm very busy with school I haven't managed to get things started.
I'd like to request pics of contams again, I will lookup more when I get the change.

A contamination FAQ would be great. Beginners and mycologists would have abundent use for it.

What is gonna hurt you/make you sic, what may spread to near by casings, what is likely to stay isolated. Sounds like a great idea, best of luck.

I think this is a great idea and we should get thuis thing going. afoaf will send in pics as soon as he gits a poloriod or digi , currently is dealing with black mold infection.

Yess, that are the ones I can use....very nice puscle, now it's a matter of identifying. Do you know anything about those contams?
Please people these pics clearly show what I need. If more people can send me pics like these I am convinced I can get the faq started.

Howdy! I'm posting a pic of some green stuff that's growing in one of my casings. After steralizing all my PF jars in a pressure canner, I still had about 5 that were showing signs of contamination. I even used the Ramsey vermiculite seal tek. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they were contaminated during innoculation. So I threw all the contaminated ones into a container and cased it anyway, to see if anything capable of conversation might grow. It hasn't started talking yet but it does look interesting.
Does anyone know what this stuffi is? Is it toxic?

I think that is meldew. My apartment flooded and meldew was all in the carpet, and eventually spread to my cases. The bastards who run the apartments took a week and half to come clean.

That looks very nasty, it could be mildew. If it's a very agressive contam wich destroy's other mycelium than it could also be an aspergillus I heard. I have a mould contam with is green inside and white on the outside wich I am told was an aspergillus strain.

Descripion is it is watery and the same color and the finch seed. Once you shake it your jars never recover. Starch mabey or is it bacteria?
