you don't get enough of in life and wish you had more of?
Today, I am getting alone time and I have been able to decompress, turn my attention inwards to myself and am back in my little heaven.
When I walk into a room, it's just as I left it. I can't tell you what a great feeling that is. I wonder how many of you live alone or without children and have no idea the automatic sanctuary you have built in to your life.
Do you appreciate and enjoy it or have you taken it for granted?
Mom, Cindy, Ring Ring , meow, ding dong, Mom, Cindy, ring ring, meow, ding dong, Mom, Cindy, Meow, Ring ring, ding dong and now I have.....................quiet ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
My answer is quiet alone time.
Whats yours?
Maybe if we all share we can realize what we have to appreciate, what we may be taking for granted and where we are in someone elses green grass.

Toys. I "need" lots more synthetic music toys. I must have the latest and greatest gear to compensate for my lack of talent.
Almost forgot, got to get some more "Blueberry" and "Bubblegum" smoke so as to better enjoy my toys.
And most importantly, I need more time to post meaningless drivel on the Shroomery. My goal is one million posts.

I want a piano, a grand piano in my house. I'm getting tired of playing keyboards. I want something real and heavy under my fingers

It's better to be happy alone, then to be coupled unhappily.
In principle, community is a good thing, but in our modern western society the worth of family is almost getting lost. So people get problems with 'normal' contacts and emotional relationships. They get troubled when living together. So they are more controllable and more depended on money or authorities which tell them what to do.
Welcome the new world order... I am a child, produced of this - living alone - not happy about that, but...
Yes, silence and the possibility to come to oneself is often the most precious thing you can get in these crazy days.

Check out Sythnogy.com. They sell "Ivory" which is the best virtual pianos ever developed. You get some $650,000 worth of concert grands (Steinway, Yamaha, Bosendorfer) for $349. AS I already have an 88 weighted-key midi controller, this is next on my list.
I too, love a "real" piano, but they are hard to move, don't record well, go out of tune; etc. etc.

Well I have a nice stereo piano sound, but I'd like a better keyboard. And I don't feel like buying another electronic instrument. Not to mention that I'm broke
But still there is something real about a real paino, beats the best samples played on the best speakers you can use. I get hypnotized everytime I am alowed to play one somewhere.

I had an early original Prophet 5 back in the day. Today, I have a Yamaha S-80 and an Ensoniq Fizmo for hardware gear. In software, I have an Arturia CS-80V (Yamaha emulation - originally $60,000, now about $160!), White Noise Zero Vector plus many others. If you are into alien landscapes, check out Concrete FX Kubik. You could live forever and still only scratch the surface of this instrument.
Note to self: post some tunes here to share.

I had nothing of the sort. I was just going around buying old music with samples of old analog instruments, used to make my own compilations for every machine I liked. The closes thing I had was that virtual Propher 5.
My favorites (to listen to) were Oberheim OBX-a, Prophet 5,Yamaha CS-80 and Roland jupiter 8
Another one that I consiered to be a ultra-rare holy grail of polysynths was Kork ps-3300, it had a thin sound, but did some pretty rich organic textures

Have played the "Ivory" samples to discriminating ears; one a professional piano tuner who tunes by ear. He guessed wrong as to which was the "real" one; they have come that far.

The Pro 53 is nice, but was missing that indefinable something and I don't mean that in a snobbish way. The most amazing emulation today with the BEST sounding filters is Arturia's Moog Modular V. It is mind-blowing.

yes I agree that in recordings it is hard to distinguish
I'm talking about the sound as it comes from the wires directly to your ears as you sit and play

Yup. Spent $2800 in 1980 dollars or about $10,000 today.
P.S. Sorry Jiggy for high-jacking yet another thread.

well of course.. while you can emulate circuits, rarely does software emulate the unstability of the old VCO's and the richness it brings.
As the technology got better, the sound got poorer, at least for my taste
