 Divorce papers

Well it finally happened... Yesterday I go tmy Divorce papers from the police man.... I thought I would be happy considering I hate my Ex husbands guys.... and we have been apart for more then a year now... but for some reason I feel a little sad.... WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?? I have wanted this for soo long I have already moved on and everything....
only 21 and already getting divorced!! wow!! I use to say Ill never get a divorce once I am maried its for good... forever.. no matter what...
I guess I am just feeling like a huge fuck up......
And now with a divorce on my record I feel people will see me different for some reason... It kind of makes me want to jump off a bridge or something.
Im so confussed. I should be happy

Keep in mind that you are part of 2/3 of this country. Over 66 percent of marriages end in divorce, usually marriages that occurred around your age. If you're lighthearted about it, people won't think less of you for it.

It's natural to be sad. You're looking at divorce papers, thinking of your ex and the happy times you spent together. On the bright side though, you're finally getting closure to the situation. So cheer up, it will feel better soon.

haha funny. Yeah it seems divorce is the rising trend in America now adays. It's pretty much gotten to the point of making a mockery out of the institution of mariage. When a young couple tell me their getting maried I just think to myself hmm I wonder how long that will last? Its pretty sad.

My parents made me marry him because we had a a kid already together .. they were going to kick me out of the house ... if i didnt marry him.... and I thought that i needed to be with hi m because of the fact we had a kid . I felt like I owed it to my daughter to be a family

thats was wrong of your parents , even tho they prolly felt like it was right.
i dont think marriage is a joke or should be mocked, tho i understand how one could do that. i do think that many dont put time and thought into the decision to become married and also the maintenance of the relationship I've been married for 19 years now and wouldn't trade it for anything, sure its not always fun , unpleasant things have to be dealt with now and then, but in my case its been a good ride.
perhaps im being naive but i do believe there is a soul mate for everyone.

You are completly right....
and I know that. Trust me I know we shouldnt stay married or even have gotten married in the first place... I am just feeling down about it all and I dont really know why. Like I said n my first post I thought this would make e soo happy.. I even said to many people I wll have a big party the day my divorce goes through.. and ow that its happening .. I feel soo weird about it.. I dont understand

you are feeling emotional because a part of your life(supposedly a happy one) is coming to finalization...its a normal feeling. just remember you have your daughter?(or son) and that's always going to be with you...you are just finalizing some legal shit, like paying a speeding ticket...

Sorry I didn't mean to make you feel like shit or anything I was just replying to some of the other posts in the thread like the 2/3 of marriage end in divorce thing. I wouldn't really feel to bad about the whole thing especially since your child is still young its better you do it now then later. Funny thing is my rents got divorced a couple years ago and now they are dating all the time and really enjoy each others company just can't live under the same roof lol.
