Vegetarianism, Ostriches...
    #4199270 - 05/20/05 01:26 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I have been a complete and total vegetarian for 11 months, the other day my mom brought home some Ostrich meat. She made burgers, and they smelled so good I couldn't resist one. Now I want more, but I feel guilty about it... Is this completely pathetic, or what? What should I do?

Feeling guilty why? That's the question that will give you direction. Did you break your own code of ethics or did you go against the vegetarian code and are worried about what others think? :mushroom2:

Definetely my own code of ethics. I envision an ideal, utopian world, where nothing has to be hunted, killed, or suffer to support the life of other things... And with such a glorious ideal, here am I, lusting after the flesh of an ostrich...

Animals kill other animals for food all the time. Why should it be wrong for a human to eat meat of anything? Vegetables were living at one time also. I say enjoy your burger!!

Are Ostriches Vegetarian? hey, arn't you gratefull to have been able to feed on this animals body, you just gave your organism something it has been craving, reinforce your beliefs but remember your body doesn't thrive on dogma... listen to it carefully.

I'm back on the plant matter. I don't know if I'll NEVER eat meat again, but it's gonna be at least a year.. Thanks for all the support folks. I feel a lot better about myself as an herbivore..
