Take your computer and burn it. Burn your clothes while your at it. Do you eat nothing but homegrown food? if not, guess what, it was probably manufactured by a corporation. Don't use air conditioning anymore, never let anyone drive you anywhere, tell your gramps to stop taking his medicine, etc ,etc ,etc....

I wasn't familiar with the Libertarian party so I went to their website...
"Libertarians believe that you have the right to live your life as you wish, without the government interfering -- as long as you don?t violate the rights of others. Politically, this means Libertarians favor rolling back the size and cost of government, and eliminating laws that stifle the economy and control people?s personal choices."
That sounds like me...

I want to, honestly. The truth is I'm a weak-willed individual, and I know what's right, but it's hard for me to manifest changes in my everyday life. I was raised lower-middle class, and only relatively recently have I started to question everything this society holds dear. I do want to burn my computer, I don't like air conditioning, or cars, and I want to grow my own food... Old people live too long as it is, and if Big Pharm controls what they call life, I don't think that's a life worth living. Now, after saying all this... I am a walking contradiction, a hypocrite. But maybe one day, before my death, I can honestly say that I'm not.

That's YOUR opinion of what's right. I don't think throwing away modern conveniences is what's right. You need to stop wanting to overthrow the entire system and return to nature, and instead think of ways of righting the system as it.
I love air conditioning. I love my computer, and the Shroomery.
Without modern technology there'd be no acid, too.
-------------------- Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

Can't stop progress. We are where we are for a reason that only time will tell. Maybe we will go back to communal living where the only necessity is food and shelter one day. Who knows...

Corporations are a legal fiction that has privileges above and beyond any normal citizen, and this is an injustice which should be corrected. But let's not forsake civilization itself over such things.

If he were just leeching off the government, I might agree. But this is a case of the government stealing on his behalf. He's doing no harm to the government, only to the taxpayers. The government benefits by having so many people dependent on them.

the lottery doesn't bother me, no one is forcing anyone to purchase a ticket
and the masses that buy tickets should know better imo. all one has to do is read the fine print on odds of winning. that goes for gambling in general. it has no relation to the actual discussion imo.

Personally, I find this morally reprehensible.
Right on, I couldnt have said it better my self. Take responsibility for your own life. In the end you will be a stronger, better person if you make your own way.

The money that's "forced" out of the taxpayers is also used to subsidise your college tuition, making it much cheaper for you. Better get another job so you can pay that, sans subsidies. I figure it's probably around 20K or so...

but scamming is still work isn't it like a scavenger. maybe if i lived in what i consider a fair government like Switzerland i would consider it immoral. but the US is basically a free for all no matter what you do someone is screwing you over.

I don't blame those who go to public schools or get student loans. It's the system that's wrong, not them. There's many things in the system that are holding them back. The government doesn't need to help them. It needs to stop getting in the way. Now if you can kindly take your arrogant accusations and shove it, I'd be much obliged.
