Where to go next

Hey all,
I just finished harvesting my final cake and am wanting to step things up a bit.
I would like to experiment with liquid cultures and WBS. I was thinking something along the lines of a straw log/basket/bottom of a tub grow but maybe you guys could throw me some more ideas.
I would like to keep things scaled down for now as I am only growing for myself as an educational and spiritual experience. Oh, and no poo for now.

Thanks!

Learn how to do grain jars with Polyfill lids. Very simple and it's a huge jump, as you'll be able to produce tons of spawn. I wouldn't recommend straw because I don't like the stuff, and I think the fruits it produces suck in general.

That cake looks nice. What strain is it? Well you should move on to grains and casing. I dont know about bulk if you think your ready. I would just colonize some rye and case with 50/50 but whatever you want to do

WBS spawn to weathered h/poo substrate in trays, cased.
Knocks the socks off anything else.

nice cake man, congrats. i have moved up to wbs, but plan to spawn to horse poo. that seems to be where its at, not only for better flushes, but more for potency.

an off topic question, not to steal a thread. you all add in threads when you post, how? i am pretty computer illiterate. just curious how it is done.

Thanks guys.
Diver, What makes straw such a bad substrate? I understand it is lacking in nutes compared to poo and such but I've seen some pretty amazing fruits come from logs and baskets.
However, it does seem like a lot of work and I do understand working with straw could be a bit messy.
pk4soul, The strain in B+.
Agar, I understand the preparation for using poo is a bit more exhausting than other substrates, but that aside, would your suggestion encompass the typical protocol as far as maintenance and experience is concerned as opposed to say, working with a basic non poo casing?
Thanks guys!

I've done straw:

And I've done poo:

And I'd take that pile of poo over that trash can of straw, anyday. Size, yeild, potency of fruits, preperation time and all considered.

Straw sucks because 1)it can contaminate EASILY and this ones the worst 2)produces WEAK flushes after the 2nd flush.
If you're jumping to grains, I'd do RYE. You mentioned no bulk (poo or straw) so rye is the most nutritious grain that you could case with. But, when in doubt.. listen to Agar.. he's the man.

Please excuse my incompetence, but can somebody point me to a tek or grow log on:
1. Fruiting from WBS 2. Spawning WBS to poo
I have read the teks from the "growing mushrooms" link on the main page but I cannot seem to find what I am looking for. I know that I have seen a few very decent teks involving poo in the forums, but I am terrible at finding these types of things.
Making the WBS substrate will not be a problem for me. On the other hand, casings and poo are something I still feel a bit in the dark about to wing it on my own from varied sources of information. A nice tek would be very helpful.
Thanks.
