BACTERIA OR YEAST?

Is yeast a type of bacteria? It seems that my jars keep getting infected with either bacteria or yeast, judging from the responses I've been getting. It shows up as darkish wettish looking substrate and seems to halt the growth of my babies. Smells like stinky feet. Anyone know what this is? Also, if this is bacteria, why isn't the boiling for 75 minutes killing it? I'm going to get a PC tomorrow, but something tells me that it could be something else, like maybe I shouldn't be covering up my holes (in the jars) with tinfoil. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. :)

Yeast is a fungus and wil result in fermentation, smelling like wine. You've got a bacterial contamination. A PC can help, but if your inoculate is tainted you're jars will still contam.
